8 Years of Sobriety

Updated: Jan 30

A big day in the Umidi house! Remembering each of you who have loved me over the years, both near and far. I'm a work in progress but I know that I'm being redeemed and restored one day at a time. God is not finished with you either!

Listen and be encouraged:

What sobriety did for me was it allowed me the ability to be self-aware and to grow in my faith that said that we are to love our neighbors as ourselves. Jesus is all about love.

As important as sobriety is to me, it's not as important as my relationship with Jesus. It's not church that got me through the rough times, it wasn't religious practices. It was hope that Jesus was not done with me - that he had a plan with my life.

As important as sobriety is to me, it's not as important as my relationship with Jesus.

Sometimes I'm not happy, but I've got Joy. Because that Joy is found in the promise that God makes all things work together for good.

Come as you are. You don't have to have this God thing figured out. And believe what he says. That you are unique. That he created YOU. He knows you by name. I didn't have that. Even though I was a person of faith. The drinking years prevented me of knowing who Jesus is. And I'm still learning who he is. I'm still trying to understand this message of Grace.

I want to know about you and your story. So send me a message, comment on this post or email me. Respond to this. Let me know who you are and how I can pray for you. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for letting me share.
